About Us (Be sure and check out
all the pictures at the bottom)
We want you to see what we
are about and what we are producing. We are a small family owned very devoted
breeder. We believe in what we are doing and producing. We spend tons of time with our puppies long before they are ever ready
to go. We know their dispositions and the type of dog they will become. We pride
ourselves on matching each puppy to its new owner. Whenever possible we would
like you to come out to our farm and interact with our dogs. We truly believe
once you see and interact with our dogs (both the mom & dad), you will
understand. Our dogs sell themselves once you see what we are producing and our
breeding program. We
STRONGLY
encourage everyone to see and interact with BOTH parents no matter what breed
you choose whenever you can. We know this isn't always possible try to ask lots
of questions. Some breeders will tell you that you cannot see the mom because she
is "so protective" , I say challenge them.
At 5 -9 weeks old the mother is NOT very protective and frankly wants the
puppies gone. At the very least she is practicing ignoring them. Whenever
you can you should meet both parents whenever possible. Of course buying dogs on the internet, it is not always possible.
We believe that we are
producing dogs of a consistent quality that are easy to train and will protect
but not out of fear. Because we have a huge plush coat male that also carries
the recessive black gene, we always have plush coated and solid black puppies.
We've found that with our male, Diesel, we produce consistent puppies of a
family temperament, anyone can train these dogs. No special handling required as
with some higher-strung Schutzhund dogs. We also have departed from the AKC
standard Please see our German-American Split page to understand why.
We also do not have 10 or 15 dogs and try to tell you they are all "family"
dogs. How is that statement even possible? We have a Select few and breed ONLY
those. We don't farm out our dogs or are in any network of breeders who
eliminate others. We are in this for the good of the breed. There are good and
not-so-dogs dogs in everyone's program whether they will admit it or not.
Below pictures are of
our farm and home. We live on the Minnesota river on a 200 acre farm.
Our dogs are a part of our daily life. They actually
learn to help all on their own, it is something amazing to see. |

There are some breeders will sell their
puppies at 4-5 weeks of age. While puppies are not
hugely nursing at that age, nor do they really "need" their mothers,
they are very much interacting with their siblings and learning who they
are. They become stronger, more confident adults if they are AT LEAST 6
to 7 weeks old before leaving home. From 4 weeks on, puppies are a huge
hassle and some breeders will get rid of them because of the hassle.
AGAIN, you are making an investment on a pet that will last at least
10-12 years, why take a chance?
Here's some

Placement
We know that sometimes there are unavoidable
things that happen in life. If you ever find yourself in a position that you
can no longer keep your puppy or dog purchased from us, we will take the dog
back and find a new home for him after evaluation. We give the dog away to the
appropriate home. You do not receive your money back. This is
just a free service we provide to ensure our dogs never find themselves homeless
or go to a rescue
situation. We would really like to keep our dogs out of the rescue or homeless
situation whenever possible. Please use this sevice if you are ever in this situation, we
love our dogs and want them never to be homeless.
About German Shepherds
German Shepherds are a
family dog by nature. They need and want to be close to you & your family.
They will thrive when in a family situation. German Shepherds will not do well
if left in a kennel (either indoors or outdoors) for hours on end only to have
you come home and ignore them. They require a little attention and interaction
with you and your family. Even if you are just doing house chores, your German
Shepherd wants to be with you. Trust me, your German Shepherd will be
there for you when you need him if you spend just a little time with him.
Before you decide to buy a
puppy ask yourself if you are devoted enough to be a German Shepherd owner.
Going to the vet. Look who is driving! Bet this truck won't get stolen....
